    Nathan’s lifelong curiosity and interest in flying became a reality in 2007 when he left corporate America to fulfill his dream. Immediately passionate about the industry after learning to fly from Steve and Jeff at the Fairfield County Airport, he invested all his resources into establishing the “family” business that is now Due North Aviation. His early experience was in flight instruction, but the majority of Nathan’s flight hours have been in turbine helicopters while flying for Due North Aviation’s commercial customers.

    Education/Other Professional Experience:
    Nathan earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Engineering. Prior to his experience in the aviation industry, he worked for General Electric as a Financial Analyst in the Financial Management Program (FMP) and at Sikorsky as an Engineer Intern.

    Steve Slater

      Flight Experience:
      A CFI since 2004, Steve’s personality, superior flight skills, and natural talent to teach and inspire are all reasons why he is our Chief Flight Instructor. Staff and students alike look to Steve as a natural leader and role model. He learned to fly fixed wing aircraft right here at the Fairfield County Airport but made the switch to helicopters shortly after. He began his helicopter career as a flight instructor but his experience is vast – from flying for NBC4 in Columbus, OH to flying a chase helicopter for Lucas Racing through Mexico and across the U.S. In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Flight Instructor for Due North Aviation, Steve is also our Chief Pilot for ABC Sky6.

      Education/Other Professional Experience:
      Prior to his extensive experience in the aviation industry, Steve was an entrepreneur in the commercial construction sector.

      Jeff Albright

        Jeff Albright

        Director Of Maintenance / Flight Instructor / Commercial Pilot

        Flight Experience:
        Jeff found his passion for flight at a very young age. He learned to fly fixed wing right here at Fairfield County Airport when he was 18 years old, but made the switch to helicopters shortly after. After earning his CFI, he and Steve together flight instructed and flew for local commercial helicopter customers for 5 years. In 2010, Jeff became a Lead HEMS Pilot at Air Evac LifeTeam, while continuing his role as Director of Maintenance and Flight Instructor for Due North Aviation.

        Jeff earned an Associate’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance.

        David Pytlik

          David Pytlik

          Working in the Industry Since: 2007
          Flight Experience:
          After graduating Due North Aviation’s Professional Pilot program in 2011, his natural ability and professionalism made David the perfect choice as an addition to our team. Since then, David has been serving as one of Due North Aviation’s flight instructors as well as supporting Due North’s airborne law enforcement contract as a commercial pilot. In 2015, David was hired to pilot for Cleveland Metro Life Flight, flying a multi engine EC 145.

          Airplane – Single Engine Land / Instrument Rated
          Education/Other Professional Experience:
          David earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration at Bowling Green State University.

          Andrew Adrion

            Flight Experience:
            After graduating Due North Aviation’s Professional Pilot program in 2015, Andrew’s hard working personality and team player spirit made him a natural addition to the Due North Aviation team. Andrew’s passion for aviation began as a childhood dream that he worked hard to make a reality as an adult. Andrew now serves as one of Due North Aviation’s flight instructors while also finishing his Master’s of Business Administration at Franklin University.

            Education/Other Professional Experience:
            Andrew earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and is currently earning his Masters degree at Franklin University.

            David Hernandez

              David Hernandez

              Working in the Industry Since: 2005
              Flight Experience:
              David’s love of learning and natural talent as an instructor made him a wonderful addition to the Due North Aviation team. David instructed in gliders at the 94th Flight Training Squadron at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado. While in the Air Force, he worked in Operations Support, Flight Safety and Flight Training. After leaving the military in 2010, David earned his training in a few different settings: Utah, Florida and right here at Due North Aviation.

              Education/Other Professional Experience:
              David earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Middle Eastern Studies with minors in Spanish and Arabic at the United States Air Force Academy.
